Mercy Swimming

Summary
The Mercy swim team is open to Mercy boys and girls from levels 1-8. More than 50 children participate in the program each year. Mercy swimming is under the direction of longtime Athletic Director Tom Grant, who was inducted in the Miami University Athletic Hall of Fame in 2005 following a record-setting college career. Tom won nine Mid-American conference championships (six individual titles and three championship relays). He teaches competitive skills within the Mercy swim program. If you are a parent and wonder if your child is ready, just ask Tom and he will be happy to provide you guidance.

The Season
Practice typically begins in early-November. The season runs through the final week of February. There are three meets: one per month in December, January and February. They take place at the Krueck Center behind Hughes High School.

Mercy swimmers can compete in up to three events per meet (including relays).

Practice is held twice per week in the Mercy pool. First through third levels (boys and girls) practice Monday's and Wednesday's. Fourth through eighth level practice on Tuesday and Thursday's. Practice begins immediately after school and concludes at 4:30 p.m. The meets last approximately 2 1/2 hours and take place on Saturday or Sunday (with an occasional Friday evening meet).
